A brief cutscene pans around your insertion point from the ocean to the small island of Porto. The animation sequence includes some music and custom voices, the introduction is short and to the point and fits very well into the mission.
The briefing contains all the information you need to complete the tasks that lie ahead. A couple of decent pictures are included and you start out with just a single objective to begin with.
The author has included a weapons pool which will statisfy most player's taste of armament. Satchels are essential to completing the mission objective, don't fret over taking one off at the start, you can easily pick them up along the way.
Operation Sabotage inserts you onto the island of Porto where you are tasked to take out the BMP factory. You're up against several hurdles as you make your way across the battlefield. The progressive respawn, whereby the respawn point advances as you make your way to the bmp factory, has been really well designed.
This mission tends to be a bit on the long side for 3 - 4 players. There are many objectives beyond just destroying the BMP factory. You really need to work together to be able to place the satchel that evenutally disables the factory. The BMP factory will continually generate BMP's and infantry until its killed!
As you add more players the mission as a whole should become easier. We found the extra objectives to really drag on the mission, in some cases it was taking 2 hours for 3 players to complete the mission. Don't let that statement distract you, there is a lot of fun to be found in this mission even if you only take it to the main objective.
The author has some well place units in various parts of the city! Watch out though they will often spot you before you see them. The roaming trucks with MG's on the back are a really great addition, if you can try to commandeer one it will really enable you to move up quicker.
Operation Sabotage is a decent mission to play from time to time. I felt the replayability was really lacking because of the length of time the mission takes to complete. There is plenty of mindless killing and you could find yourself respawning up to 10 times in a mission, possibly more, based on your skill. I enjoyed the mission the first couple of times I played it, its a keeper for sure but not a mission that will be played often.
