OFPEC has been undergoing improvements behind the scenes for many months now; we took the feedback from our survey last year, we took suggestions from the staff and even a few outsiders, and then went to work improving the interface and addressing the backend code for long-term stability. Finally the fruits of our labour can now be shared with everyone!

Main Page Site redesign

  • New Layout. Yahoo!
  • Hidden login. Tired of your old forum pic in the right corner? Those days are over
  • New Site Map - Discover OFPEC! Explore the depths of the Bohemia Interactive engine through the depots at OFPEC
  • Too many more improvements to mention

Intel Depot

  • Separated the ID to its own depot basically to make room for all the new content
  • Added comments system

Editors Depot

  • New ED page layout
  • Quick links to the most common areas like the COMREF, SetPos templates, basic tutorials, etc
  • Tutorial backend created to allow OFPEC to update tutorials much more efficiently

Missions Depot

  • New Missions Depot page layout
  • Improved layout for the mission reviews
  • Missions Depot tutorials added to get the most out of your mission building capabilties
  • Section for Missions Depot news updates, like MP testing times, beta testing info, etc.
  • Ability to sort missions based on mission name, author, and score

Addons Depot

  • New relaunched addons depot
  • Easily find addons for missions hosted at OFPEC

Tags

  • Improved interface
  • Totally re-written backend
  • Watch for additional news for this

OFPEC FAQ

  • Still WIP, but will grow to feature articles and quick links to basic editing knowledge evryone needs to know

Sounds Library

  • New Sounds library added
  • Download sounds that could enhance missions and addons
  • Upload sounds and share them with the community

Faces Library

  • Improved look

Recruitment Lounge

  • Advertising type system for soliciting editing help
  • This is geared for people who need translations, texturing, voice acting
  • Removed recruitment forum board, the board was hardly used

RSS

  • New improved RSS feeds! Not really that new but the backend has been improved for more capacity
  • Plans to add new feeds for the various depots
  • See an example at http://www.armedassault.eu/ of carrying our mission reviews on their site

First of all: Great work here with the update!

But at my first view on it it felt a bit overloaded to me (the home page). But I'll get used to it.
There's a "u" missing in the link to armedassault.eu in the RSS section.

Thanks for the heads-up. Link has been corrected.

There is indeed quite a bit of text on the frontpage at the moment; icons and news images will be added shortly to brighten the page up a wee bit.

hoz, I think I'm just unfamiliar with the new design of the site - I fear change ;-)
I'll get used to it. But somehow I liked the old design more, I can't tell exactly why but well...
As I said before I'll get used to it and if the site will have a new design in a few years/months I might be complaining about that just as I do now :-)

I'm new to this site..but i do have to agree with Zwobot..plus the Face library download links don't work.

All the functions for OFP used to be included in one list, that could be refined. Now they're all divided up into different lists they're much harder to find.

Well it seems the scripts are in one list, A-Z but there seems no way of moving from the front page to the next. Hiding everything. Grrrr!

I still have a suggestion for the "Missions Depot" box on the home page and the "Latest Missions" box on the Mission Depot page:

Can you add to the mission names of which game the mission is? This was the case in the old version of the page. Now you have to really go inside the mission review to find out, if it's for ArmA or OFP or Elite.
