Lol, this is off-topic no matter what the question is, if its about the M4 addon, thats not allowed, cuz OFPEC don't allow chat about addons that are not in OFPEC addons depot

if its about the real thing, then your way outta the right forum

Do you mean you want to know how to place an M4 in a crate, or give it to a soldier?

how does one obtain an m4

If I read: "how do you add custom weapons/equippment to soldiers,

then I'd probably say som'n like:

Put the following stuff in the troopers INIT field :

RemoveAllWeapons This; This AddMagazine M4; (repeated 3 times); This AddWeapon M4

To add an M4 to an ammoCrate, use this in the crates' INIT field:

This AddMagazineCargo ["M4",4]; This AddWeaponCargo ["M4",1]

Hope it helps m8  :-*

tomby - urban legend - doesnt have to be addmag x3

as long as the mag is before the weapon then he will have a loded gun - just not 4 clips.

It already IS in the game.  The XMS is the M4.  This AddWeapon "M4" in the init will give you an M4.  The Mag has the same name as the weapon.

Mates,

can't you say it's the short M-16 known as M-4, CAR-15, XMS and many other names? ;D

And I didn't know that "writing addmag before the weapon" gives you a loaded weapon. Have you tried that with a G36 for example?
Maybe it gives you one mag loaded but not 10 mags or am I wrong?

if you type addmag once in front of the weapon, you get a loaded weapon with one clip (which is in the weapon)

if you add anymore after that, they take up your gear slots

What's worse...it's not an M4/CAR15 at all.

It's a Colt Commando.
