If you point your gun in the air you can see your arms and tell if they are bleeding. If you look at your legs you can usually tell. maybe your chest the only thing you cant really tell is your face i guess thats why the red is there the blood goes into your eyes. you should be able to go blind if you are shot in the face or a nade goes off in your face but doesnt kill you.

ok: look at the options->controls.
there you'll find the entry "free look". sue the key to look where you want and you can see where youre bleeding. use enter of num block for 3rd p view->you can see your face , though not from the front.
