"NEW" BIS-walls avaliable HERE
« on: 25 Nov 2002, 23:41:19 »

Heya, all  :D Grab this (attached .zip) and tell me if it sticks!!!  8) ;)

There's a ReadMe and a picture included...  :-*

P.S.  At the time of uploading, I forgot a tiny but important note :

You need the OFP v_1.85 patch to be able to use this addon

even though I wrote 1.75 in the readMe.  ::) I'll fix that when it gets uploaded for real.

:D Right, now grab and test the dayum thing, lads!!!!  :D 8)

Yeah, well this is just a previously 'hidden' wall, and I really wanted to use it
for a long time, so finally I pulled myself together & made it avaliable.

;) Neah biggy, just another one of those useful additions to the editor  :-*

It's great for sealing off dead end backstreets in yer home made setpos'sed towns,
(see attathed pic below if you'd like a preview before grabbing it).

I'm actually working on a replacement for kegetys "editor update102", as it really bugs me
to do this endless scrolling through the 'support' class just to find a frikking fence or a lamp.

So if I get it done, all walls/fences will come in a "FENCE" class, all streets and
dusty roads etc. in a ROAD class, tree's in TREE, BUSH for bushes, and civilian houses
in HOUSE, while the army-types of buildings (camo nettings, barracks etc.) will be in a
special BUNKER class.... not all done, so hang on - prolly released around new year.  :)

 here's the preview pic. of the wall:

BLASPHEMY!!!!! Ok, well, not really. I just didn't look hard enough.....probably because.....well.....i have no idea really. But, an upgrade to Kegs pack sounds like a GREAT idea Tomby. Just make sure the classes are....well....not in Tombish. ;D

Neah worries, m8, they wont!  ::) ;D

 :D So far I've got :

Bunker
Bush
Fence
House
Objects (just using the default "objects" class for stuff like Fountain and Streetlamps etc.)
Road
Tree

...and a few more. It is my plan to ecourage other addonMakers to add their own stuff to
these shared classes so that we can get some kinda order into the editor.
Guess I'll have to put a note about it in the "readMe" when the time comes.  :P

An example:

For private use I put all my downloaded bunker-addons in this
new "Bunker" class along with the yellow BIS barracks and similar stuff.
And when the new "ed.update" is ready, I will have this really cool and
easy-to-use class called "Bunker". Much easier to work with when editing.  8)

So this TMB_Wall is actually just sort of a preview - I'll include it in the ed.update  :)
and it will then be avaliable in the "FENCE" class along with the already known fences.

Que?  ??? I already did so.... sheesh, this is the 2nd time in ONE thread that
someone flashes his horrifying instant and most vital need for new glasses!  ??? ;D

:moon:

Can't put up an exact date  :P I'm working sh|t loads of hours in R.world + studying on UNI, so you
will just have to stick w/ this "around new year" blurred pseudo date  :-X :-*

Good idea, eagle.  :D

If they're cool & don't take up too much space (i.e. as a whole, less then 1 MB), I guess
they could be included in a new ed.update.

I also thought about including a few other things, like custom buildings & maybe
the kkb gateArm, some bunkers etc. (obviously, I have 2 ask the authors first).

But school is eating me up here in january, so I will have to get back to this
huge project in february  :-\ :)
I don't wanna release a half done thing, it has to be perfectly clean from bugs.

Also, I can only include small addons (which will then, off course, replace the
original addon.pbo files), coz the final ed.update PBO shouldn't be sized any bigger then 2-3 meg's.

I think it will end up as a great & very usefull thing once its done.
Just don't wanna boost the release date if the prize is related to a decrease in quality.

Let it sleep for a month & then I'll contact U, matey!  :-*

And thx for the offering btw.

If you could bring back the "useless" objects from the original editor upgrade, you would be a hero for sure.  Some of those were handier to have around than Keg assumed...

;D yea I know that. don't really understand neither how he ever came to the conclusion that no-one need those "useless" objects  ::)

but nevermind, don't wanna nag at other ppl its too easy! besides, I don't know many ppl whom have done SO much for the community like he has!  8)  The last thing a great guy like that needs is ungrateful naggin'  :P

:) My ed.upgrade will just be a free choise on the 'market'; never had the ambition to outbat the older ones, just making another one, one more choise, thats all.
My main reason for making it is my own wants, how I think an addon like that should be.

Unfortunately, other projects delay this  ::) so I haven't got the time to work on it these weeks  :P
But neah worries, as much stuff as possible will be in the final product; and with the new classes of choise there won't be any endless scrolling coz I will split up the goods in new and very useful vehicleClasses.

Yeah!

This is gonna be cool!

I too miss those objects.  The only way I can get certain things is to go back to an old mission of mine and copy paste it out of there...

(a bit of a late answer *cough* )

:P yeah, that happens to all objects created w/ the old editor addon if you try 2 access these objects WITHOUT having this old addon installed.

:D But nevermind : Work is well in progress re. my on-coming "TMB_Editor MOD"  8)

And I have kept a few secrets up my sleeve that will make it even better than I first expected it to become.

:) I will seal off this thread now and post a new thread when the addon is ready for beta's.

Untill then,
any n00bs to this project can read this thread in its full extend for info on whats happening.
