Visitor error?
« on: 08 Sep 2009, 22:24:59 »
Hey all! I've made a map in ArmA. It's basicly a bigger Rahmadi, but I'm getting a strange "error". In Buldozer, it shows up that I've placed roads, building plants etc. and when I PBO it in, and put it in-game, the placed objects are nowhere, it's like I didn't place them. No error messages come up. Maybe a Visitor error?

If any one of you have any ideas of solving this problem, write! :D

Thanks!  ;)

If everything else of your island works its sounds like either
a) The objects you used dont exist in ArmAII
b) The file path to the objects you layed in Visitor/buldozer is different from the default path in ArmAII

In (b) the game doesn't find the addon so probably ignores it. Seems most likely reason.
What did your Binarization log file say?
What did your ArmA2.rpt file say? (found C:\Documents and Settings\PROFILENAME\Local Settings\Application Data\ArmA2)
What is the island project path in you P drive?
What is the path to your placed addons?

Hot damn, sorry, can someone move this post to the ArmA I visitor section, my stupidness got the hang of me and I posted this into the wrong section. Sorry guys, I'll post the answer to your questions later this evening.

Hey, sorry for the late reply:

a) The objects I've used for it are un-pboed objects from plain ArmA
I didn't binarize the map (yet).
RPT file uploaded (you'd better see it).
P:\gsfbase
D:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\Addons

I really have no idea what I might be doing wrong...  :(

Conflicting addon CABuildings in 'gsfbase\buildings\', previous definition in 'ca\buildings\'
All the PBO's you UNPBO'ed should be in;
P:\CA
Not in your gsfbase directory
Only YOUR project should be in gsfbase
All BIS buildings directories etc need to be in the CA directory in P drive

i.e. In P:\CA you should have many other directories, like "buildings", "rocks", "roads" etc, each corresponding to a PBO you Un-PBO'ed
Be careful with ROADS, don't overwrite the MLOD files in there that the tools installed for you already.

Unfortunately you will likely have to delete all buildings you added to your map and start again.
