Beaching an assault boat
« on: 09 Apr 2007, 18:07:58 »
Hello ,

I would like to beach an assault boat but the AI seems to stop in ARMA before it reaches  I have used a

setVelocity [x,x,x] command  to beach the assault boat but this gives me a unrealistic acceleration , anyone have any good scripts to make the AI complete a realistic beach landing.

Thanks.

as far as i *know...this was a constant problem in OFP - and I put my money on it being around for a while :(
Seems bis thought it'd be better to have em land 30feet upshore than 30ft offshore!
Maybe sumone can elaborate?!

*I know nothing really.
just setpos & forgetpos!

This is what I did...
I have a boat that I wanted to stay on the beach. I named it boat1.
I made a trigger I made it 50x10 rectangle and placed it just off the shoreline. In the act field I put:
boat1 setfuel 0.

I then group the trigger to the boat. I supposed I didn't have to do this but I wanted to be sure the boat was going to remain on the beach. :)

I purposely did this so my friends wouldn't run away when there was danger nearby.  :P

Maybe this can work for you.
