Download Problem
« on: 02 Jan 2006, 15:59:02 »
I don't know if it just me, but whenever I try to download something from OFPEC, the link opens a new browser page and then starts to download.  The problem is, no prompt comes up, and I don't get any options on where to save the file to the computer.  I can't monitor the progress, because no dialog comes up.  OFPEC simply saves the file to a temporary folder while that browser page is open.  I downloaded Fresh Download, hoping that would solve my problem, but it hasn't.  Is this an OFPEC feature, or a problem on my end?

I was trying to download the maps of Malden, Kolgujev, and Nogova in the editors depot.  However, I have also run across this problem while trying to download missions.

Ahhh, probably something stupid on my end.  Maybe IE is messing something up.  I'll take a look around and see if I have an option clicked I shouldn't have clicked.

Thanks for your help, Planck. :)

EDIT:
I have tried saving target as, but that gives me the no linking web page.

Happens to me too with Win XP and Ie6.0 SP1. It's got something to do with the way XP handles zip files - with zips I get no prompt, no status indication, a new window just opens showing the zip from inside a temp folder. Nowadays I have to check the link first. If it's a zip I right click and 'save as' if not I can left click it.  :P

Anywho, this is tech and not related to OFP editing or OFPEC.  :)

With OFPEC, it's problematic because of the hot linking prevention.  :-\
