OFPEC sounds depot

What about somethig like this?
I like to make missions, but sometimes searching the web or creating custom sounds is very time consuming and maybe useless : a particular radio loops with background sounds, muezzin chants, city environmental sounds, etcetcectetc.
In some cases these stuffs are included in particular addons but I think it would be nice  to create an open and easily accessible database, without the need to request for permissions by the outhors and so on.
Google is very usefull, but spending hours over hours scavenging the net is really a waste of time and source of frustration.
Maybe I'm wrong, but i don't think it would requires a large amount of spaces.....
You opinions?

Only problem I can see with this idea is that it will very easily lead to a situation where copyrighted material is being distributed from www.ofpec.com without permission from copyright owners. And yes, that would be a bad thing to happen.

Allowing people to submit sound files will inevitably lead to copyrighted sound files being submitted (without asking permission from the author of the files) and who can check them all to be in public domain for sure, or not. It's a horrifying thing to control for site admins as I see it.

A good idea as long as the database contains only sound files which are in public domain for sure...

#Edit: yes, I know what people are doing with their mods and missions...

@Baddo
Iron submitting rules could prevents many of the problems. Naturally all the submissions should be approved by the admins.
Music and films related sounds shouldn't be allowed. In addiction every resource could be refused or even cancelled once submitted if an eventual owner would claim for the copyright or  denounce a missing permission (this could resolve addons related probs).

Unfortunately that's the be all and end of it :(

There's no way for us to check if a sound is legitimately original work, or not.
It's a little unrealistic to expect staff to have seen every possible movie, computer game, music video etc. etc. where sounds could have been ripped from, and identify them.

It's a good idea, and were it not for copyright laws I'd be all for it :)
However it would in all probability put OFPEC in a bad place legally...

It's not a disclaimer enough to take ofpec out of an eventual legal storm?

We don't want to be in a legal storm in the first place.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play
