Right click on you OFP shortcut, and click 'properties', and look for where it says this:
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE"
Change that line to this:
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nosplash -nomap
That should work
If you get different errors, like 'windows has experianced an error and has to close' etc, take away either -nomap or -nosplash, and see if it works with just one of them
