Who started editing first and how?
« on: 12 Aug 2004, 22:27:33 »
Just been wondering, who were the first people to start mission editing.
Like what i mean is how did the people who first started editing get the codes etc to make there missions work.
Did they just experiment or did BIS tell them how to do it?

Just sumthing ive been thinking about  ;D (probably get locked for being off topic )  :'(  :'(

Dunno I was kinda late coming into OFP, middle of 2002. So I don't know much about our forefathers or mothers...

Such a different time, seperated by three years....

Mission editing started even before OFP was released:  people took the Demo apart.  That was about the spring of 01 I think.   Before my time anyway.    I have a vague feeling that Lustypooh had some connection with/got some help from BIS but I could be making that up.    Support from BIS was fairly limited in those early days.    Hopefully one of the real old timers will happen along soon and tell us what really happened.

OFP came out in summer 01 and OFPEC got going in the autumn.   This version of the OFPEC site was launched in about August 02.   We had far fewer resources then - only a couple of dozen tutorials for example.   (Now we have 193.)    One of my first jobs as a staffer was trawling the web for tutes and bringing them into the Editors Depot.
