Ballistic Addons Studio

BAS CEASES OFP1 ADDONS DEVELOPMENT

Ballistic Addons Studio (BAS) would like to announce that it is ceasing to develop addons for the OFP1 platform.

"The past few years have been very exciting and rewarding for all in the BAS team, and we would firstly like to thank the OFP community for the tremendous support it has given us." said Tigershark, founder of BAS.

"Sadly, external commitments have made it increasingly hard for us to devote the time required to develop new high-quality addons for OFP1, and thus we have taken the decision to draw this work to a close."

"As a result of this decision, our final OFP1 releases will be an updated version of the BAS Pavehawks and a new Tonali Special Forces pack for the Tonal series. We are exploring ways in which other updated BAS projects can be finalised, but for the moment this and all other previously announced projects must be regarded as shelved. Naturally, we regret any disappointment that may be caused by this news."

"Crucially, the shift away from OFP1 development is by no means the end for BAS. Looking forward, we shall be spending our time researching and preparing for the anticipated OFP2 platform. It is very much the intention of the BAS team to return to the active development of addons for the community at some point in the future."

"Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us over the years. There is a vibrant and talented development community for OFP1 - one which we are very proud to have helped create - and despite our departure from this area we shall continue to look forward to, and to enjoy, the great work of the other studios and mod teams."

BAS, thanks for all the time you devoted guys. I don't know if even you realize the amount of fun and excitment you have caused in our lives, taking hours away to play with your stuff. You did an amazing job, and I really appreciate all you have done.

For the existing projects, maybe release them like you did the AH-1's a while ago, or to an experienced mod team so we can enjoy what you have worked so hard on.

Not exactly on topic but when has Marfy ever released anything besides pretty screenshots...

I think people gave up on every actually getting a finished addon out of that guy a long time ago, he's good at making screenshots evidently.. but nobody will ever get to find out if those addons are any good..

Personally if Marfy ever releases anything but a picture, I wouldnt download it just on general principle

It's sad there's no more BAS, but if people talked as much smack about me as flamers and newbies did about BAS, I'd get tired of it and quit eventually too

Dear BAS team,

many thanks for your hours of work. I really enjoyed and still enjoy the great work you have done. I wish you the best for your future (i have seen some people are at the moment at BIA).

Makes me wonder if they know more than we do about OPFP2 - maybe alot of the news mods wont be compatible with Op2 possibly
Or maybe they are going to be doing stuff for BIS etc.

Well regardless of possibilites they have a done a great job and i take my hat off to BAS.
Flashpoint would not be the same without there mods and inovative ideas.

I wish them all the best for the future - and i hope they get contracted to work for BIS.

hmm, i really liked the old Desert cammo on the old TJP helicopter, this skin just seems to dark for me, good effort though.

Your top-quality add-ons will be sorely missed - thanks for the hard work on projects ranging from Deltas and Rangers to the ingenious JAM. There's never enough time to do everything you want and I hope we see you around for OFP2...

Newbie that I am[still], I did learn many 'intelligent' things here thanks to your contribution gifts [albeit after many a frustrating problem solving cyclical process], and simply- be it small in the grand scheme of things, I feel very enriched to have and still acquire such uniquely creative and talented knowledge.
