In case you dudes haven't noticed, the addons depot is looking good

Although it is not officially ready to be opened yet (not far off though), we need some new addons reviewers.

If you think you fit the bill, and are willing to review at least 5 or so addons a week for the next, well, however long, please head to the recruitment page:

and apply for a job as an 'addon reviewer'.

You'll need to know how to install an addon, and what makes a 'high quality' addon. You'll also need to know how to use unpbo.

No, but u are going to have to be able to check the .cpp file to see if the person has followed the OFPEC Tag system.

Who told you anyway? I demand to know!

As pcverden said you will need to check on the tags ect so it;s good to be familiar with modding before becoming a reviewer to better understand the inner workings of an addon

Exactly. And you can't apply for a moderators job. If we think you would make a good moderator we will approach you.

For all other jobs 18+ might be helpful but is not required.

don't want to sound rebelious (lol) but how does an 18 year old have better reviewing skills than a 17 year old?

now... for a mods job, yeah... i understand (been there done that etc) - more mature, better at making such decisions... more experienced in life with exams and jobs etc - more responsible...

but... this doesnt mean you're gonna choose over 18's over those under? its a 15+ game, so sureley 15+ should have equal chance?

just a thought - although i know the answer probally and its been brought up so many times over the last 2 years...

(jeeeze, im too old here - lol)

I remember the 'over 18' -rule used to being applied to ALL the parts of the site.

This was founded and based on with some legal stuff I never really understood. Is the legal stuff over now sense we can hire under 18 year olds?

my 2 cents is that the 'over 18' -rule was/is good, but now a days it makes finding staff a bit hard

Hence, why its preferable but by no means is it a restriction that people are over 18.

Hold your horses, Messiah, and ake a look at our practice. We have under 18 staff (except in the forums), including (and especially) some of the most recently recruited. Nobody can say there would be no chances for people under 18. Our recruiting decisions are based on our experience and common sense. And age is one of the less important things we look at.

Nothing has to be added to Noons point. In the time we're running the site we have made pretty much every experience with recruiting staff you can imagine (good ones and bad ones). When I say "It's helpful, but not required, to be 18 or older", this statement is simply based on our experience. But you shouldn't over-interpret it or let it disencourage you. If you feel you can contribute to the site, we'll take a fair look at your application and when we feel you're suited, you're more than welcome.

OK, I think it was Wolfsbane who said to me some time ago that I had a SMALL chance or being a mission reviewer so I sent in a job application but I didnt even got an answer telling me that I suck or I wasnt what u guys were lookin for. U could at least answer ppl. :-\

The Admins are endeavouring to answer all the applications put in (even if only to say "Sorry, you didn't get it") so keep watching those Inboxes! :thumbsup:

Just note that some Depots attract more applications than others, so if it takes a little while, please understand that the Admin is most probably quite busy.

He would be pissed.

I'm just glad snYpir 'altered' the rules a bit.

It doesn't take much to review an addon or a mission, so thats why i think snYpir abolished the 18 + rule on the Departments.

But the forum... Noon, your right. You need someone to be a little older, have more time, and can make better decisions. So 18 + is a good age. Plus your a new adult (atleast here in the states) and your 'tuff' feeling.

Well having OFP being my favourite of all time game. Also making an ADDON myself. I am considering posting an application to review the ADDONs, though in saying that I am not posting my application just yet. I'm sure your all busy yourselves worrying about the (And I quote):

Does the rule apply for people only like 4 months waiting for they 18th birthday and are curently unemployed cos like they are waiting to go into the fire brigade?

Hate to bring this thread to life again but I just want to ask something and since we talked about the 18 + in this topic I thought this was the best place to ask.

I applied 2 days ago for mission reviewing and Anmac said it was good for my first review and I take that as a "yea, u can come aboard, I just have to tell you a few misses in your review".

And then he did told me 2 misses, and this 18 + requirment! WTF? I thought u recruited ppl under 18 now? Or has it change or is it Anmac who hasn't got this message or something. I IM him back and haven't got an answer yet but I just want to make sure, are you letting ppl under 18 in as staff members or not?
