Title: Preview MP Missions in the Editor?
Post by: CraigFTW on 17 Jan 2010, 11:45:32
I'm new to editing and I just had a quick question about multiplayer missions and the editor's preview ability.

Is there a way to configure the editor so that it will load missions in preview as if they were multiplayer.  I've been playing around with the addScore command and would like to be able to see the scoreboard (keyboard default "i") when I preview my missions within the editor.  So far I've been exporting the missions to multiplayer and starting a LAN game.  This is a little tedious and it would be nice if the editor could be configured to show multiplayer unique scripts when loaded in preview.

Thank You Very Much in Advance!

It is indeed a bit tedious. It is also the only working method.

To be REALLY sure your MP mission works as intended (server-client communication, everything coordinated on all computers) you also need to try the mission with a friend in a hosted game, or start an ArmA2 dedicated server parallel with your ArmA2 game (on the same computer) and join your own dedi.

Really tedious  ::) but makes it easier to preview your MP missions on your own and it's really helpful  :good:

1. Copy the mission folder from missions to mpmissions.
2. In game goto Multiplayer instead of Single>Editor
3. Select mission and hit Edit
4. Preview

That will preview the mission on a host/listen server.

Use the various startup parameters to simplify the process:
